The Clutter Syndrome


It is SAFE to let go!  Clearing clutter is about letting go and trusting that the universe will provide you with what you need.  Things that are kept for “just in case”, is showing a lack of trust that you will be provided for, and you are keeping it in fear.  Instead, let go, and allow the Universe to provide you all the wonderful things and blessings that you deserve!

Clutter is stacks of “junk”, lying around as we would think of it.  In Feng Shui, it represents much more:
 

  • Kept/set aside in stacks or piles
  • Numerous “little” things
  • Clothing that doesn’t fit /Items needing repair
  • Having too much, in an area not big enough
  • Unorganized
  • Unused, outdated items
  • Unfinished projects
  • Things kept dusty and/or dirty

To begin the releasing process, it may help to work your way through one room at a time.  Avoid feeling overwhelmed during this task.  Music may assist in setting the tone and allow you to get into a rhythm.
There are several ways to clear clutter:

  • Trash it
  • Organize it
  • Donate or give to someone who will benefit from it
  • Sell it / return it 
  • Repair or complete projects
  • Move 27 things (multiples of 27 things)


Organize Your Clutter

The energy produced by clutter is unbelievably powerful.  The negative chi has to manifest itself in some form or aspect of your life.  Here are some facts, the results of being a “clutter-holic” :

  • Feeling tired, lethargic, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia
  • Depression/disharmony
  • Weight and health problems
  • Disorganization: inner/outer, at/away from home
  • Confusion
  • Procrastination
  • Keeps you “living in the past”
  • Causes extra and unnecessary cleaning
  • Financial problems

10 ways to help you remain clutter free:

  •    Hold & honor items – thank it for the place it held in your life, then let go.
  •    List objects that you have in each room.
  •    Don’t buy anything without getting rid of something.
  •    Sell things before buying another.
  •    Burn items in a ritual.
  •    Give things away before you bring in new things.
  •    Limit your surface areas to 50% covered  - 3 items
  •    Say NO to objects given to you that you won’t use or don’t love
  •    Don’t store objects for yourself or others – use it or lose it.
  •    Move things around at least once a year
